It beats my imagination how our leaders view issues or to what extent they are prepared to go to address issues that affect our very existence as an entity. The challenges posed by unemployment, a failing power sector, poor infrastructural development, hydra headed corruption and I can go on and on as the list is just endless! My focus here is the federal legislators and their unrepentant greed and selfishness for which Mr President seem helpless or better not prepared to take his chances. I begin to wonder what posterity will remember these legislators for! If I may ask why should the monthly salaries of our legislators be swimming in millions when on the other hand the president is still toying with the idea of removing fuel subsidy, and the legislator's blanket rejection of stipend for unemployed graduates. How selfish can they be? I believe that these legislators and even mr president are primarily there for themselves and any legislation that will not serve their interest will definetly not see the light of day and that is quite sad! Whither Nigeria? And where do we think we are going with this unrepentant level of hypocrisy? I pray for a forceful wind of change that will blow these ones off the political landscape. Meanwhile I leave u to reflect over this for now. I will be back!

CHINUA ACHEBE; AN IROKO GONE FOREVER.

Gentletee4u: It is with a sense of loss I write to acknowledge ...: It is with a sense of loss I write to acknowledge the exit of one of Africa's literary giant and Nigeria's greatest writer to have ...

It is with a sense of loss I write to acknowledge the exit of one of Africa's literary giant and Nigeria's greatest writer to have transversed the face of the earth. Millions have been affected by his books positively. When books such as Things fall apart, Arrow of God are mentioned the name Chinua Achebe readily comes to mind. What a loss! My encounter with this reverred writer was through his book, The Problem with Nigeria, that book left me with a lasting impression of one that is truly patriotic. Those problems he highlighted then and I mean over 15 years are still staring us as Nigerians in the face today. Whither Nigeria! May His Gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Festus Keyamo, the messiah?

The political calculation in oil rich delta state is about to witness a monumental change as the declared interest of fiery Lagos lawyer Festus Keyamo indicates. The ruling party the PDP in the state seem to have lost sleep ever since the declaration was made. He in his speech at the inaugural meeting of Delta Forces United at Effurun Delta decscribed the current state of delta as a state where a dynasty of corruption has been instituted by cabal.

Osaze Odemwigie

One thing you cannot take away from Osaze Odemwingie is that he is a very good player and has proven that especially with west brom in the English premier league. He is a match winner, and he is quite an asset for his club. His contribution to west brom is noteworthy. Unfortunately that cannot be said of him regarding his relationship with the national team i.e super eagles and his unending attack of the national coach in the person of Stephen Keshi especially since he was dropped from the squad that eventually represented Nigeria and won the Africa Cup of Nations.
His continuous rant on twitter is unbecoming of him and needs to be emphasized. It is not all about being a skillful player one is talking about here but character and a good one at that.Osaze seem to lack character in terms of giving respect to whom it is due afterall respect is reciprocal. He can go on twitter and attack who he deems fit. What I do not understand is if it is just all about his absence at the nations cup, or there is more than meets the eyes.Over night he has turned to become a proud or is it a rebellious player of no consequence.Players that towed this path in times past got their fingers burnt as for Osaze, his may be worse. It is said that pride goeth before a fall,so I really dont know the amount of wealth and cup glories he has achieved that will want to make his head turn but his can obviously not be compared to some before him like Kanu Nwankwo, Finidi George, or even Yaya Toure currently who are all level headed. If  Osaze has advisers they should please do an extra work on him as he is on the path of destruction!
I have nothing against him as a player but his character is offensive to me without doubt. My  advise is he should turn from these negative tendencies and be face his football.

Whither Lasu?

I thought that the menace of cultism has been dealt with appreciably until the news of Damoche, an up and coming act gunned down yesterday right in front of the school. Lasu has produced graduates that has gone ahead to be successful men and women in their respective fields. If they had taken the path of cultism they will not be celebrated today. My appeal to the student of this noble institution is to shun every acts of violence in the name of cultism and focus on the very essence of why they are in school in the first place. The world is waiting to celebrate them so they should not let us down!
