A case for state universities.
There are signals from president Jonathan indicating that the strike action embarked upon by Asuu would soon be called off. I hope the measures been taken by the federal Government are far reaching enough to give a new lease of life to the sector. You know we have both federal and state universities and more often than not state universities are directly funded by respective states governments. This is with regards to their involvement in the strike and their benefits therein. My point is that the federal government should not concern itself with the needs of the federal varsities alone as what is good for the goose is good for the gander. I hope that monies to be released will get to the state varsities as they are involved in the struggle for a better tertiary education as well. If that is not the case then I see no reason why state varsities should be involved in a strike action that will not benefit them in anyway. If it is a case of mere solidarity then its not worth the time!
