State of Emergency on education!

It is worrisome that as of now the strike action embarked upon by the academic staff union of university is still very much on. How long will it take a responsible government to tackle a strike that bothers on an important sector as tertiary education? There have been series of meetings without anything concretely achieved. One begins to wonder the effort of the two ministers in this regard. I think the federal government need to set its priorities right as it will go a long way in eliminating those things that doesn't matter in its scale of preference. Tertiary education is at an abysmally low level which should not be allowed to degenerate further! Let me use this opportunity to appeal to the federal government to declare a state of emergency on education and begin to address agelong problems that have bedevilled the sector all this while.
